Tonna Obaze is the Chief of Staff & Investor at Harlem Capital where she focuses on advancing the firm’s growth and business development strategy, in addition to deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company support.
Tonna has demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and strategy throughout her career. She previously worked at Goldman Sachs on the ESG & Impact Client Strategy team — advising institutions and high-net-worth individuals on building diversity and climate focused investment portfolios. Additionally, Tonna was a strategy consultant for Girls Who Invest, a diversity focused nonprofit, and writer for the Business Insider — covering sustainable investing and launching the “Black Excellence on Wall Street” profile series.
Tonna graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Tonna’s passion for diverse communities motivated her efforts to launch the Gamma Chapter Reading Room — a community development & mentorship center for West Philadelphia youth — and the Black Ivy League Business Conference, the first Ivy League diversity conference of its kind.
Tonna is Nigerian-American and enjoys reading, traveling, listening to podcasts, and practicing hot yoga and meditation.
